My wife and I had our first date at this hotel 15 yrs ago and came back for a visit for her 40th birthday. The service was exceptional, especially ‘Mac’ who checked us in (not sure what it’s short for). Our room was upgraded and we were given a complimentary drink at the bar where we first met. The whole experience was absolutely perfect and we’ll absolutely be staying there again. Kudos to Mac and the team for a perfect trip! He deserves some acknowledgment.

The bathroom in the accessible room was obviously thoughtfully designed. The door slides and is wide enough for a wheelchair as is the bathroom itself (as it happens I am not a wheelchair user, but an amputee). The shower has a seat well positioned for transfers and no sill to obstruct entry, but there are no grab bars in the shower, although they have several around the toilet. Perhaps they ran out at the end of the installation? (A much more minor point: hanging the ironing board on the closet door so that it slams every time the door opens is not a great idea.) Four out of five for a good try.

As always, Sofitel did not disappoint. The renovation is beautiful, opening up the lobby and allowing the lounge area to be warm and welcoming. Room was clean and well appointed, the afternoon macaroons were a nice treat, plenty of bottled water was offered and the offering of more towels in the morning was a wonderful amenity. All of the staff was friendly and personable. Every associate, valet, housekeeping restaurant servers and front desk staff are great. They really do everything they can to help make the hotel stand out above others. Customer satisfaction is really key! Our only hotel for a Philadelphia stay.
